Introducing Theseus 4.0 (BETA): Smarter Security Operations, Automated Response & Fine Grained Vulnerability & Patch Management
We’re excited to announce the Beta release of Theseus 4.0, a major upgrade to Athena’s AI-powered Security Operations platform.
Theseus 4.0 brings together Pallas (Athena AI Analyst) and Ageleia (Athena XDR+) in a more tightly integrated environment, enabling security teams to investigate threats, automate responses, remediate vulnerabilities, and manage compliance from one unified platform.
What’s New in Theseus 4.0
1. Unified Alert Management & AI-Powered Investigations
Pallas now provides a centralized workspace for endpoint, network, and vulnerability alerts, with AI-generated forensic analysis, prioritized recommendations, and integrated response actions.
What’s improved: Faster threat investigations, clearer security insights, and the ability to block malicious activity, isolate endpoints, or mute alerts directly from the investigation workflow.
2. Advanced Vulnerability Management & Automated Patching
New vulnerability management capabilities prioritize critical exposures, including vulnerabilities known to be actively exploited.
What’s new: Integrated patch management for Windows, Linux, macOS, and supported third-party applications, with automated deployment workflows, approval controls, rollback capabilities, and remediation tracking.
3. Intelligent Security Automation & Playbooks
Theseus 4.0 introduces 33 predefined security playbooks covering alert reduction, automated triage, attacker blocking, and endpoint containment.
Playbooks can operate in Off, Test, or Live modes, allowing organizations to evaluate automation before enabling enforcement.
4. Continuous Compliance Management
Expanded compliance dashboards support nine scored standards, including SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST 800-53, CMMC 2.0, ISO 27001, and CIS frameworks.
New capabilities include continuous technical compliance monitoring, automated tracking of control deficiencies, remediation assignments, AI-assisted analysis, and scheduled compliance reporting.
5. Expanded Security Integrations & Coordinated Response
Enhanced integrations with Microsoft Defender, Intune, Office 365, Sophos, ClamAV, and AWS provide improved visibility and coordinated security response across existing environments.
Theseus also introduces unified cloud firewall blocking, centralized audit logging, and stronger role-based authorization controls.
6. Automated Security & Compliance Reporting
A new reporting library provides 10 report categories spanning SIEM, NIDS, vulnerabilities, compliance, SOC operations, and supported third-party integrations.
Reports can be generated on demand or scheduled for automatic delivery, with AI-generated summaries and historical tracking.
Additional Enhancements
Theseus 4.0 also delivers improvements in platform reliability, AI response accuracy, security analytics, session management, and user experience.
A key architectural advancement is the integration of AI-assisted investigation with governed security execution. Pallas recommends and prepares actions, while Ageleia enforces permissions, approvals, and audit controls.
Beta Availability
Theseus 4.0 is now in Beta, having successfully completed its planned release testing across Pallas and Ageleia.
General production availability and upgrade scheduling will be announced separately. Features may vary depending on your subscribed services and configured integrations.
If you’d like to learn more about Theseus 4.0 or discuss Beta participation, please contact your Athena representative.
